Hi,

My family (2 adults and 2 children) will be travelling to Japan from 23 Nov to 6 Dec 16. Can I ask how to travel to the following places using the JR pass :

1) From Shinjuku Station to Lake Kawaguchiko
2) From Lake Kawaguchiko to Kyoto
3) From Kyoto to Osaka

We will be flying in from Singapore to Tokyo and flying out from Osaka back to Singapore. For the 1st 3 days, we will be in Tokyo Disneyland and we will be in Tokyo city on the 4th and 5th day. Will only start travelling to Mount Fuji from the 6th day.

Based on the above itineary, please also advise if it is worthwhile to purchase 7 days unlimited JR travel pass or should we buy the tickets directly at the station?

Hi there,

Based on your itinerary I would advise buying normal tickets. A JR Pass starts to be a good option once you make a return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka. However your travel is limited to a one way trip with side visit to Kawaguchi-ko.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
