Hi again

We will be going (two people) to Japan next month for 14 days.

I will be using the JR pass to travel from Narita - Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo - Narita.

Is there a significant difference between the regular class and the green class? Is the difference worth it? (i will be carrying with me 2 pieces of luggage).

And what is the seating arrangement in each class? ex: 2 seats or 3 seats stuck together?

Thanks

Hi there,

To get an idea of what Green Class includes, have a look At this link. Green Cars generally have a 2x2 layout while other normal train cars have a 3x2 layout. Luggage storage is about the same for each class, although Green Class is traveled less frequently so you may have a better chance to find a good place there.

In general, Green Class is a nice upgrade if you can spend the money. Most people will be fine in ordinary class as well.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
