Hi there,

The JR Pass covers both Tokyo and Hokkaido. It is however hard to say what the best option is without knowing your full itinerary. Please let me know and I will let you know in turn the best option you can use.

Hope to hear from you,
Daniel

Hi Jennifer,

I see that you've left Hokkaido out. This this itinerary I recommend using a 7 day JR Pass for the return Tokyo - Kyoto. From there it is also easy to visit Hiroshima and I would certainly include it if you have to possibility. You can even combine it with a visit to the close by Miyajima, also nice to know is that the Hiroshima sightseeing bus is covered by the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your advice.

I will use 7 days JR Pass for Tokyo to Kyoto , Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Could you please let me know the cost breakdown for below:
1. Narita to Tokyo station
2. Approximately travel cost for visit around Tokyo attraction area.
3. Tokyo to Mount Fuji day trip only.

Just for information my travel period is from Dec 24(7:40) to Jan 4 (20:50).

Thanks and hope you can help me^^

Hi Jennifer,

1.) The cost of a one way ticket Narita - Tokyo is about 3,000yen uing the Narita Express.

2.) It depends on how much you travel around, you could count 200yen per ride as average. There are also day passes available for both the JR and Metro, costing about 750yen each.

3.) It really depends what area around Fuji you wish to visit any will cost anyway between 3000-8000+yen. For more information and details, see this page.

Hope this helps too!

Hi Daniel,

First of all thanks for your answer and I have some question about JR Pass:

  1. If i take night time train from Tokyo to Osaka is there need to top up some fees and same for Hiroshima to Tokyo?

  2. For above answer no.2 ,is it mean 750yen is cover for whole day using fares ( train and buses) ?

  3. Is it can use JR pass to visit mount fuji area or have to use other pass.?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hello again!

You can rise the Sunrise express without additional payment with the JR Pass. However this train is often fully booked and you will have to use an alternative option.

2.) Yes, for 750yen you can ride the metro OR the JR for a full day. Valid until midnight.

3.) For Fuji, please see this page.
