Hello there,

I checked the route to is of a JR Pass would pay off but in this itinerary it is better to buy normal tickets. This because you will fly a lot as well.

If you would have made a return from Kyoto - Tokyo by rail, then you would have made good savings with the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks, Daniel!

What if I were to use the JR routes travelling inside Tokyo?

The JR pass can be used in Tokyo. Travel however is not that much though and a JR Pass works best for longer distances.
