Hi,

I will be traveling to Japan for 10 days in December. Seek your kind advise which pass should I buy to cover my trip as follows. Also, is prior reservation of seat necessary?

Day 1 : Arrived Nagoya Chubu Centrair Int'l Airport and go to Kanazawa directly
Day 2 : Kanazawa (overnight at Kanazawa)
Day 3 : Kanazawa to Toyama
Day 4 : Toyama
Day 5 : Toyama to Tateyama (overnight at Tateyama)
Day 6 : Tateyama/Toyama to Takayama
Day 7 : Takayama to Shirakawago and back to Takayama
Day 8 : Takayama to Nagoya
Day 9 : Nagoya
Day 10 : Nagoya

Is the above itinerary too tight?

Looking forward to hear from you. Thank you.

Regards,
Anna

Hi Anna,

The itinerary looks good to me, is definitely not too busy.

When it comes to the JR Pass, I can't really find one what would match your itinerary. The cost of normal tickets is below the cost of a 7 day JR Pass and there are no regional passes that would match your travel plan. Therefore my advise would be to buy individual tickets for your travels.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
