Hi guys, my family and I are traveling to Japan and I was wondering which pass to get for our itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive in Narita, travel to Shinjuku
Day 2 - Day trip to Disney
Day 3 - Sightsee around Tokyo. Travel to Kyoto by bullet train
Day 4 - Sightsee around Kyoto
Day 5 - Travel from Kyoto to Nara. Sightsee around Nara. Travel back from Nara to Kyoto.
Day 6 - Travel from Kyoto to Osaka. Sightsee around Osaka. Travel back from Osaka to Kyoto.
Day 7 - Travel from Kyoto to Universal Studio Osaka. Travel back from Osaka to Kyoto.
Day 8 - Sightsee around Kyoto
Day 9 - Tavel from Kyoto to Kansai Airport.

We will be traveling mostly in the Kansai region. But I'm wondering if there's a pass we could get that includes trains/buses in Tokyo, the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto and finally the train from Kyoto to Osaka airport.

And if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!!

Hello there,

Travel around Tokyo and within the Kansai Are does not really cost a lot. The JR Pass is best used on longer routes, especially when you plan on using the bullet train. This is limited to one route Tokyo - Kyoto in your travel plan and I think it would make most sense to buy normal tickets for your trip or use a Suica Card to travel.

Enjoy Japan!
Daniel
