Unsure whether JR pass is worth it for my itinerary

I've been working on my itinerary (which is fixed as accommodation is booked) and am unsure whether I should buy a JR pass or not.

Day 1- Narita to Shinjuku (time to rest before a big journey)
Day 2- Shinjuku to Osaka (stay 3 nights)
Day 5 - Osaka to Kyoto (stay 3 nights)
Day 6 - Nara day trip?
Day 8 - Kyoto to Kanazawa (stay 2 nights)
Day 10 - Kanazawa to Shinjuku (stay 6 nights)
Day 13- Nikko day trip?
Day 16- Shinjuku to Hakone (stay one night)
Day 17- Hakone - Narita

I'm not sure about the Nara and Nikko day trips, we'd definitely do one but not both.
We have 2 adults and 2 children travelling together.

Thankyou!

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary to find the best match but you fall in just between a 7 day and 14 day JR Pass. A 7 day JR Pass would give you good savings if you would return to Tokyo before it expires, while a 14 day JR Pass would need a bit more travel.

With that in mind I would buy normal tickets.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
