Dear Sirs,
We'd would like to ask 2 things:
1) CAn you take a bus from Tsumago/Magome area to Takayama? According to Googlemaps it would take ~2h instead ~4h by tain.
2) If there's a bus, does the JR railway pass cover it?

Hi there,
1 and 2.) You can take the bus but it would mean paying separately for the bus, as it is not operated by JR. The train does take more time but the route is scenic and the trains are more comfortable than the bus, plus it is free with the JR Pass.
