is there a night train we can use to get from Tokyo to Sapporo? using the JR?

any extra charge??

Hi there,

Sorry, there is almost no night service from Tokyo - Sapporo anymore because most people use the Shinkansen or alternative transport.

If you do want to use a night train (and can actually reserve a seat) then the JR Pass covers the basic fare only. You will have to pay for the express fare and accommodation fare. This is around 20,000yen. I recommend traveling by day and use the Shinkansen. As these are faster and free with the JR Pass.
