We are a group of 4 going for 10 days trip in Oct '15 starting from Narita Airport. We are going back from Kansai Airport (Osaka).
1) We have booking with Kadoyo Hotel at Shinjuku. What is the best way to go from Narita to the hotel?
2) We plan to stay at Tokyo for 4 days and go around the area for shopping.
3) Going to Mt Fuji (Lake Kawaguchi) from Tokyo where we plan to stay one night near Lake Kawaguchi to experience the Onsen. I just cannot figure out the best route from Tokyo to Mount Fuji. Please help.
4) From Mt Fuji to Osaka for the next day but cannot find a easy route to Osaka. Need advise as it is very confusing.
We are considering to changing to Hakone instead of Mt Fuji if there is a easiest route to Osaka. Otherwise should we do a 2 days trip from Tokyo to Mt Fuji for 1 night stay and back to Tokyo before going to Osaka, any suggestions? We are taking our luggages along if going to Osaka and worry if we can manage it. Should we get the Fuji Hakone Pass?
5) Osaka for 5 days-making day trips to Kyoto/Nara, maybe Hiroshima & Miyajima. Where is the best area to stay and get a transport to Kansai airport.

Please help to advise if the itinerary is OK. We are quite open to changes. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi there,

1.) Take the Narita Express from Narita Airport - Shinjuku station and walk from there.

2.) To travel to Kawaguchiko. Take the JR to Otsuki station. From there you can use the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko. The Fujikyu line costs 1,140yen and is not covered by the JR Pass. Also see the timetable here.

3.) Unfortunately there is no easy way to Osaka. To travel to Osaka, it would mean using the Fujikyu line to return to Otsuki station. Take a JR service from there to Tokyo station and from Tokyo take the Shinkansen to Osaka. Hakone does make for a much easier visit if you wish to travel on to Osaka. As it is basically directly on the Shinkansen route between Tokyo and Osaka. The Hakone pass can offer good value if you plan on exploring that area.

4.) I think staying near Osaka or Kyoto stations would make the most sense. From here it's easy to get on the bullet trains to Hiroshima and Nara is also within 1h distance.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
