Hi there, really need some advice on the following:

4 Nov: arrive in Tokyo via Narita airport
6 Nov: travel from Tokyo to Azumino
13 Nov: travel from Azumino to Shizuoka
20 Nov: travel from Shizuoka to Osaka

For the 4-6 Nov journey, is there any pass (or JR EAST Pass?) to cover these journeys?

For the rest of the itinerary, what are the cheapest alternatives of transport or any sort of pass that can cover the routes?

Would appreciate all the advice i can possibly get, thanks much!

Hi there,

I checked your itinerary for the best options and must conclude that it would be best to just buy normal tickets for your itinerary.

The JR Pass does cover travel between all these places but you would have to do more travel in order to make savings with it, since you have a good amount of time in each city.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

ahhh noted. thought i could try to cut some costs as normal single trip tickets for these locations aren't that cheap either.

thanks Daniel-san for your prompt response!

Yes, travel in Japan unfortunately is not cheap.

You could use local trains here or look at expresses buses. These are cheaper than rail but certainly not as fast and convenient. Maybe this website will help: http://highway-buses.jp/
