Hi 5 of us are arriving in Tokyo our itinerary thus far is:

Arrive: Tokyo - stay 4 nights
Hakone - stay 1 or 2 nights
Kyoto - stay 4 nights (we may do day trips from here to either Osaka, Nara, Kobe
Depart:Tokyo - stay 1 night

Is it possible to do this using a JR 7 day pass?

Hi there,

Yes, I would recommend using a 7 day JR Pass here. You can use it to travel to Hakone (using the Shinkansen to Odawara station), Kyoto and back to Tokyo. As well as for day trips to Osaka, Nara and Kobe.

The JR Pass also covers the local JR Network in Tokyo and Osaka.

Hope this helps,
