We are family of 3 adults one child 9 years travelling to Tokyo. Please advice whether to order japan rail pass or buy local tickets? This our itinerary :
Arrival and stay at Tokyo on 14th May and attend conference.
15th May Tokyo local trip.
16th May trip to Kyoto/ Osaka back to Tokyo
17th May trip to Hiroshima back to Tokyo
18th May trip to mt fuji and back to Tokyo
19th return from Tokyo
You may suggest different itinerary keeping in mind the places of interests we wish to visit.

Hi there,

I think that a JR Pass would be well worth it. I've made a small list of normal ticket prices below.

Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,800
Kyoto - Osaka ¥ 1,560
Osaka - Hiroshima ¥ 10,230
Hiroshima - Tokyo (with stop around Fuji) ¥ 18,760

For a total of ¥ 44,350 or ¥ 15,240 in savings as the 7 day JR pass is ¥ 29,110. Also nice to know is that children below the age of 12 are half price. It's a good itinerary, if you have time, consider visiting Miyajima while you are in Hiroshima.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
