Hi,
I would appreciate any assistance.
Our major travel doesn't fit neatly within the seven days.
From the little I have read we will still need to purchase subway tickets in Tokyo, the Free pass in Hakone and other train/bus tickets in Kyoto.

Day 1 arrive Haneda Airport travel to Shinjuku
Day 2 - 3Tokyo
Day 4 travel to Kyoto
Day 5-8 Kyoto
Day 9 travel to Hakone
Day 10 Hakone
Day 11 travel to Asakusa
Day 12-15 Tokyo + day trip Yokohama
Day 16 return Haneda Airport

Hi there,

As thing stand, travel costs would be a little below the cost of a Japan Rail Pass. A 7 day JR Pass is quickly recommended if you can make a return Tokyo - Kyoto but you will stop at Hakone on the way back. This means that you are just below the cost of a JR Pass and right now I would just buy normal rail tickets + the Hakone Free Pass and maybe a Suica card.

A JR Pass could quickly become a good option if you made any additional travel, such as a day trip to Nikko or Hiroshima.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
