Should I buy a 7 days JR pass for Nagoya-Takayama-Kyoto-Osaka?

Dear Sirs,

I will be flying to Centrair Airport, then to Nagoya, next day to Takayama, over night, then to Kyoto for 3 days, then to Kansai Airport the next day. During the 3 days in Kyoto, we will be taking bus and train around the area. Would it be cheaper if i buy a 7-days JR Pass? Thank you.

Hi there,

I made an oversight of costs you would make without the JR-Pass in order to see if it would be profitable to buy a JR-Pass.

Here we go:
Centrair Airport --> Nagoya 1,200 Yen
Nagoya --> Takayama ¥ 5,870
Takayama --> Kyoto :¥ 9,680

For a total of ¥ 16,750, the 7 Day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so in your case it would make more sense to buy the tickets as you travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
