Hi - I am travelling with my daughter to Japan next month. It’s my first time and we plan to stay in Shinjuku. Can you please help me with the best way to get to Tokyo station from Shinjuku to catch a train to Kyoto? Also which train should I take for Kyoto and will all this travel be covered in the JR pass? Thanks for your help

Hello there,
You can use the JR Chuo line between Tokyo and Shinjuku, this is the quickest option. From Tokyo you can use the Shinkansen (Hikari train service) from Tokyo directly to Kyoto. All of this is included in the JR Pass, as well as much more :)
