Hello Tine,

I read your itinerary to see what would be the best option and I think it is best to buy normal train tickets for this itinerary. The JR Pass works well if you travel longer distances with it, by flying you somewhat take it's usefulness away.

I think your itinerary looks great btw, the route is good and there are many highlights of Japan included.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

Hi Daniel,

Thank you so much for the fast reply,so i know now that no need to buy jr pass,so what train should i take from haneda-narita and narita -shinjuku (if possible for cheaper fare) and sapporo to furano? for subway and another jr train better using one day pass or suica card?

Thank you so much for the details

Hello Tine,

There's a shuttlebus between Haneda and Narita Airport. Any other public transport option requires multiple transfers and can be confusing.

Here's how to access Furano:
http://www.furanotourism.com/en/static/access.php

As for local transport it depends on how much you plan on travel. Generally you need to use a day pass for 4 rides for it to pay off. Otherwise you can use an IC card like SUICA, which is just for pure convenience but does not offer any discount.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
