Dear Experts!

ご意見をお願いいたします。

Please kindly give me advises.

29 Oct : arrived Narita at 15:30
30 Oct: Shinjuku go to Hokkaido --> By Flight or Train is better? (I can buy train 17,500Yen including 1 night Hotel at my country)
31 Oct: Sapporo, then back to Tokyo
1 Nov: Tokyo go to Takayama Shirakawago
2 Nov: around Takayama , then back to Tokyo
3 Nov: Tokyo go to Nihonmatsu (Fukushima), then back to Tokyo
4 Nov & 5 Nov: Kyoto
6 Nov: around Tokyo, then go to Narita airport

Should I take flight to Hokkaido, any interesting places in Fall I should visit?
Is it easy go to Kyoto from Fukushima?
What time is the first route of Shinkanshen go to Fukushima?
Should I buy 7days JRPass and can use all routes?

Thank you so much for your time.
有難う御座いました。

Hello Jen,

Whether you fly or take a train to Sapporo, I think that 2 days for making the trip and sightseeing around Sapporo really is not enough time. Take the train is about 7 hours one way and flying is about 5 with all the procedures added in (like the train to and from the airport, check-in, luggage collection, etc). This leaves little to no time to explore Sapporo. I recommend either taking more time or visiting somewhere else instead.

Do you mean Fukushima in Osaka? Because that is easy to reach. The JR Pass does cover this as well as travel to Sapporo, Takayama, Kyoto.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

If I have 3D2N for Hokkaido trip, from Tokyo by shinkansen, can I take night on train for go and return?
In fall where should we visit there?

Hi there,

There is no night train between Tokyo - Hokkaido. You can take the Shinkansen by day for the fastest connection.

Great stops are Yamadera, Gokakuryo and Hakodate before going to Sapporo.

Enjoy!
Daniel
