Hello, I would love some advice and recommendation on my itinerary, here's the plan:

Dec 16 morning : arrive Osaka
Dec 17 : Universal studio
Dec 18 : Kyoto
Dec 19 : Fushimi inari / arashi yama
Dec 20 : Shirakawa Go
Dec 21 : Kawaguchi
Dec 22 : Fuji / Hakone / Tokyo
Dec 23: DIsney Sea
Dec 24: Tokyo
Dec 25: flight back

Do I need to buy JR pass? and do i need to tweak my schedule here considering it takes almost 7 hrs from shirakawa to kawaguchi, should i head to tokyo first and then visit fuji the day after? Do I need another day to spend in hakone and fuji area? Does Kyoto / Fushimi Inari / Arashi Yama can be fitted into 1 day?

Thank you

Hi there,

I reviewed the route that you are travelling and advise buying normal tickets. The route you travel is an arch through the Japanese Alps to Tokyo and the prices of normal tickets is less than the price of a JR Pass.

Travel from Shirakawa-go to Kawaguchi-ko is indeed long and I would recommend changing Kawaguchi-ko to a day trip from Tokyo.

Fushimi Inari / Arashi Yama can be done in one day, I recommend waking up early and visiting Fushimi Inari before anyone is there. Its amazing to walk around the endless rows of Tori gates without anyone there.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel San, I will be changing my route from Takayama to Tokyo instead and do Kawaguchi the day after.
