Hi

I am doing a whirlwind trip to japan which gives me 5 full days and a morning to explore. I would be flying into Osaka from Europe........

Would the 7 day pass be the economic option to buy for this.

Day 1 - Osaka
Day 2 - Hiroshima
Day 3 - Nagasaki
Day 4 - Kyoto
Day 5 - Osaka

Can I use the JR pass on the Metro in Osaka ?

Thanks

Hi there!

I made a little list of ticket prices without the JR Pass, to see how much you could save.

Osaka - Hiroshima ¥ 10,150
Hiroshima - Nagasaki ¥ 13,530
Nagasaki - Kyoto ¥ 20,490
Kyoto - Osaka ¥ 540

This adds up to ¥ 44,710 or ¥ 16,410 in savings (as the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300). So I would definitely recommend buying a JR Pass for this trip.

The Metro is not covered in Osaka but you can use the local JR Network instead, including the Osaka loop line.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Daniel, that is a big help. It would make sense to buy a 7 day pass.

The loop line goes past Osaka Castle and the airport so the need for the Metro is reduced.

Many thanks for your help
