Hi, we are a family of four adults and will be in Japan from December 1 - December 9, 2016.
Dec 1. stay overnight in Osaka as we are arriving at separate times 2 @9.30am and [email protected]
Dec 2. make our way to Otsu for our resv. for 3 nights at a ryokan. Tour Kyoto day and and night
Dec.3 make way to Himeji, Miyajima and possibly Hiroshima back to Otsu
Dec 4 visit Fushimi Inari early and then Nara and night to Osaka
Dec.5 more of Kyoto, then shinkensen to Tokyo(Shinjuku)
Dec 6. Tokyo and possibly Yokohama at night back to Shinjuku
Dec 7. Day trip to Nikko or Hakone(Hot springs) maybe stay overnight, or Kusatsu and overnight
Dec 8 Back to Tokyo and possibly explore Yokohama again
Dec.9 Tokyo and late evening to Narita to fly out. I know of the 1000 yen bus from Ginza or Tokyo station

Wonder if I should get day passes and ICOAC? or SUICA or 7 day JRPass. Thank you for your time on reading this and really appreciate your response.

Hi there,

Going from Osaka - Miyajima - Tokyo alone pays for a 7 day JR Pass. With all the additional travel you will be making great savings, compared to purchasing normal rail tickets. You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

You could use the 7 day JR Pass from Dec 3 to Dec 9 and even use the Narita Express back to Narita Airport, instead of the bus.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
