Hi,

I am travelling to Nagoya on 29th November. Will take a train directly to Tokyo. Stay in Tokyo for 3 days then go to Mount Fuji by train for one day. If possible want to to go to Osaka for a day or two then back to Nagoya. My flight is on 6th Dec. Is it worth to buy 7 day JR Pass for the journey? Plan to visit disneyland and universal studio. Thanks for any suggestion regarding my itineraries.

Hi there,

Yes a JR Pass would be worth considering for this itinerary. It would cover most of your travel, including the Shinkansen between Nagoya - Tokyo - Osaka - Nagoya. It is also good for local travel in Tokyo and Osaka, for instance to Disneyland and Universal studio.

Fuji is the only place where you may have to use additional travel, however this depends on where exactly you wish to visit.

Hope this helps!
Daniel

Hi,

Thanks Daniel-San for your replies. Mount fuji mean the surrounding area like lake ashi? Not planning to climb the mountain. Does the JR Pass cover until this area? Should i prebook seat for all my journey before or after i activate the pass?

Hi again,

Yes, Fuji lakes, or Hakone or Gotemba etc. The JR Pass covers not the entire route to lake ashi but you can certainly make savings with the JR Pass so most of the way is covered.

You can just get on the train during normal days and seat reservations are not required. Only during busy periods such as New Year and/or Golden week are seat reservations in advance needed.
