Hello,

I'll be flying into Nagoya, and plan to travel to Tokyo by Shinkansen and stay in Tokyo throughout the , and travel by shinkansen back to Nagoya on the last day. My hotel in Tokyo will be near to one of the stations on the JR Chuo line.

My questions are:

1.) Is it worth it for me to get a JR Pass? I will be travelling in Tokyo by train/subway most of the time.
2.) How to get from Nagoya Chubu Centrair Airport to Nagoya Station where i can take shinkansen?
3.) Where can i get the shinkansen ticket? Can i buy it in advance?

Thank you in advance!!^^

Hi there!

1.) Travel from Nagoya - Tokyo using the Shinkansen is about 10,000yen each way. Local travel cost around Tokyo is low and I don't think that a JR Pass would pay of for your travel plan.

2.) You can use the Meitetsu Railway between Chubu Airport and Nagoya station. More details are HERE.

3.) You can buy the Shinkansen tickets the moment that you arrive at Nagoya station.

Have a great trip!
Daniel
