Hi,

Me and my family plan to visit Japan from Dec. 20 to Dec. 30, 2015. And the itinerary as follows:

Arrive in Dec. 20 at Narita Int'l Airport

Dec. 21, 22 Tokyo (city)

Dec. 23 Disneyland

Dec. 24 Gotenda (Branded Outlet) and Mt. Fuji

Dec. 25 Trip to Hakuba (Happo)

Dec. 26 Hakuba

Dec. 27 Trip to Osaka

Dec. 28 Universal Studio

Dec. 29 Osaka (city)

Dec. 30 Back home via Kansai Int'l Airport

Which part of our trip cannot use Japan Rail Pass? When is the best date to activate the 7-days japan Rail Pass with that kind of itinerary in order to save money?

Thank you.

Hi there,

The JR Pass is best used for travel cross country. So the best moment to start using it would be for travel to Gotemba. Will you stay there for the night or travel back to Tokyo? From there the JR Pass also covers travel to Hakuba and Osaka as needed.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
