hihi..

Need some advise from you guys.

My frend and I will be travelling to Japan from the 29 Nov to 14 Dec. Will be arriving at Kansai International Airport and departing from Haneda. Our itinerary will be as follows:-

Day 1 : Arrive KIX at 8.30am. Catch the train to Kyoto.

Day 2 to 4 : Explore Kyoto - Imperial palace, Bamboo Groove, Kinkaku temple, Nishiki Temple. Day trip to Nagoya to see Nabano No Sato

Day 5 to 7 : From Kyoto to Osaka. Explore Osaka - Osaka Castle, Aquarium, Ramen Museum, Dotonbori, Umeda City. Planning to get Osaka 2 day amazing pass.

Day 8 to 12 : From Osaka to Sapporo. Explore Sapporo - Otaru, Odori Park, Tanukikoji Shopping street

Day 13 to 16 : From Sapporo to Tokyo. Explore Tokyo - Doraemon musuem, gotenba outlet, yoyogi park, skytree, shibuya 109, takeshita pedestrian street

Day 16 : Fly back home at 10.30pm

We will be travelling from osaka to sapporo to tokyo by ANA.

Just wondering if the itinerary do-able? Will it be very pack?

Is the 14 days JR pass worth it?

Could anyone recommend us some hotel? Budget within USD80 to USD100 per nite

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Thanks,

Kay

Hello Kay,

By flying you take away much of the value that the JR Pass can offer.

Still I think that a 7 day JR Pass could be of great use if you use it from travel from Sapporo - Tokyo and makes visiting to places such as Gotemba and around Tokyo. A one way ticket Sapporo - Tokyo is ¥ 24,240, which pays for the greater part of the JR Pass alone.

For hotel recommendations, its pretty hard to recommend a hotel in particular. Instead I would recommend using booking sites such as travel advisor to search for hotels using your own preferences (budget, ratings, additional stuff) and read the experiences of other travellers. This way you get the best idea of a place before booking it.

In general your itinerary looks doable, although the visit to Sapporo does feel a little short, given the travel time involved.

Hope this helps!
Daniel

hihi..

thank you for your feedback.. i don't think we are up for it to use the train from sapporo to tokyo. Is there any other pass option available beside the JR?
