Hi There,

Hoping you can check the below itinerary and advise if a 14 or 21 day pass is better. Any suggestions/additions/rearranging would also be helpful. Mostly keen for Sapporo, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Koyasan

Day 1-2 - Arrive in Sapporo, Snow Festival
Day 3-6 - Flight to Tokyo, Tokyo for 4 nights (maybe with side trip to Nikko)
Day 7 - 10 Kyoto (day trip to Nara)
Day 11- Hiroshima (overnight stay in Miyajima)
Day 12 - Leave Miyajima, visit Himeji (overnight stay at Osaka)
Day 13 - Temple stay in Koyasan
Day 14 - 15: Osaka
Day 16- 18: Hakone and Fuji area
Day 19- 20: Kamakura (overnight in Yokohama)
Day 21: Tokyo
Day 22 - Flgihts home from Tokyo

Thanks,
Katherine

Hi Katherine,

Going from Sapporo - Hiroshima will nearly cover the full mainland of Japan. A JR Pass works best for when you travel traveling by rail. Looking at your itinerary I recommend using a 14 day JR Pass for travel to Kyoto - Hiroshima and back to Yokohama/Tokyo.

Then try to cover as much travel as possible to get the best savings.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

No, but I definitely do recommend making the trip to Nikko!
