Hi there,

1.) For Kyoto, have a look at this Guide Book. It will tell you to best way how to travel around the city and also has a very handy map.

Nara is something you should do (partial) day trip and Osaka it about the same. I would recommend starting out in Umeda, which is the same as Osaka station. From there do the river cruise, castle and universal city and finish with shopping in Shinsaibashi.

2.) Both Nara and the surrounding area of Kyoto are very beautiful.

3/4.) Osaka, Nara and Kyoto are all very close. You could stay the night in one or in all. Both are possible. The weekend does not really change this.

5.) Do you mean Kansai, Osaka or Kyoto Airport?

6.) The best way is to use buses these will get you anywhere in Kyoto. There's a special bus pas for just 500yen a day available.

7.) I would suggest buying normal tickets if you stay within Osaka/Nara and Kyoto.

8.) -

9.) Pack a couple of layers, however it's not winter yet, so don't overdo it either.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
