Plan:
Arrive @ Kansai Airport, travel to Kyoto, w/ 4 night stay. After that, we may go to Nara for a day trip prior to traveling to Tokyo, either way, we leave on this day to Tokyo for a 7 day stay, potentially just staying around the city, or taking a day trip to mt. Fuji (nothing concrete planned in Tokyo, but we can just decide to stay in the city the whole 7 days to immerse ourselves in the big city). We leave from Narita airport out of the country.
With this plan, my questions:
1. Does a 14 Day JR pass make sense?
2. For in and around Kyoto, what rail pass should I buy:
a. If I have a JR pass, do I need a separate pass?
b. If I did not have a JR pass, and just using the local pass?
3. For in and around Tokyo, what rail pass should I use:
a. If I have a JR pass, do I need a separate pass?
b. If I did not have a JR pass, and just using the local pass?
