Is the 7day pass 7 calendar days or 7 24-hr periods

I am planning the following trains:

May 11 (afternoon) Nagoya to Kyoto
May 13 Kyoto to Kumano Kodo hike
May 16 back to Kyoto
May 18 (morning) Kyoto to Tokyo

I’m wondering if I get the 7-day pass, if the May 11th (afternoon) and the May 18th (morning) trains would be included. If the pass only counts calendar days (and not 24 hr periods) then I’m guessing I would have to buy this separately.

Thank you!

Hi there,

This you already answered your own question. The pass is indeed counted in days as such, a 7 day pass would not really match your itinerary.

Have a good trip!
Daniel
