Hi,

I would like to ask whether or not it is worth to buy jrpass

my travel plan:

1st day: Osaka
2nd day: Kyoto
3rd day: Kyoto
4th day: Tokyo (Disneyland)
5th day: Tokyo (Disneyland)
6th day: Lake Kawaguchi
7th day: Tokyo
8th day: Osaka

I would also like to know whether or not the jrpass can be used for travel inside the cities that I am planning to go?

Thanks before

Hi there,

Yes, I think it can be worthwile getting a 7 day JR Pass. The pass is about the same price as a return with the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo so if you use it for that, then any additional travel is free. Looking at your itinerary you could use it from day 2-8. You can also use your JR-Pass to Kansai Airport if you fly from there!

Please note that the travel to lake Kawaguchiko is not covered by the JR Pass, because only non-JR railway/bus companies go there. When you are in Tokyo, I would recommend taking the High Way Bus from Shinjuku to travel to Kawaguchiko.

Hope this helps!
-Daniel
