Hi there,

The JR Pass covers travel to all the cities you wish to travel to, including Tokyo, Sapporo, and Osaka.

You will, however, need additional travel for around Fuji. You can find details about visiting Fuji here.

We also have a map with all lines covered here:

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi,

By my calculations, you still come up a little short to make the 14 day pass pay off. But you have many chances to take a side trip to some excellent places, like Himeji, Nikko, etc.

Please be aware that at the end of the year and the first few days of New Year's, many places will be closed. Be sure to check if the places you will go to will be open.
It will also take you around 8½ hours to go from Tokyo to Sapporo, completely killing the day. If you really want to take the train, you might break it up and do some sightseeing along the way. Winter is cold, but there are a number of great places in the Tohoku area or Hakodate.

Good luck.

Hi Toraneko and Daniel,

Thanks so much for the help!

One more question: what is the best way to get to below address:

1143 Hakone-Machi Sengokuhara
Ashigarashimo-Gun, Kanagawa Prefecture
250-0631

If we stay at Highland Resort Hotel Spa
5-6-1 Shin Nishihara, Fujiyoshida , Yamanashi-ken 4030017
Tel: 81 (555)221000
3 nights ( one room)

thanks

Maria

Hi,
For the Highland Resort Hotel Spa, the closest station is Fujikyu Highland Stn, but this is using the Fujikyu trains.
An example from Osaka is here. Please note it will take close to 5½ hours.

I'm not clear on the rest. It looks like you are going to rent a car in Hakone? At any rate, to go around both the Five Lakes and Hakone area, you might look at getting a Fuji Hakone Pass.

Best of luck.
