Hi!
I am travelling from Australia and visiting Tokyo and then visiting Takayama and then on to Osaka then to Kinosaki onsen town and back to Kyoto. I might do a day trip to Nara and then need to go back to Tokyo. This will be across ten days and I don’t think there is a ten day pass? Is the 14 day pass still the most affordable option or would it be cheaper to buy individual train tickets for each section?
Is 14 day pass best option for my itinerary?
Hi there,
Have you considered using a 7 day JR Pass to cover travel to Takayama - Kyoto and back to Tokyo within 7 days and then buy normal tickets for the remaining days in Tokyo?
This would by far be the best option if you can manage to be back in Tokyo before the JR Pass expires.
I can give you the best option if you post a day by day planning like:
Day 1 Tokyo
Day 2,3 Takayama
Day 4 Kyoto
and so on!
Thank you Daniel san. I have decided to travel from Tokyo to Takayam & then to Kyoto and from Kyoto to Kinosaki onsen. in 7 days. I looked on hyperdia & it seemed cheaper to buy individual tickets when I'm there rather than a 7 day pass - does that seem correct? Thankyou
Hi there,
The difference will be small, the main question is what will you do after Kyoto?
