Hello! It will be our first time to travel to japan and we are not sure if this itinerary will work and if we will be able to maximize a JR Pass:

Mar 11 tokyo
Mar 12 Snow monkey park - tokyo
Mar 13 tokyo - hakone mt fuji
Mar 14 - hakone - kyoto
Mar 15 - kyoto
Mar 16 - kyoto to osaka
Mar 17 - universal studios
Mar 18 -19 osaka

Ive made research and we wont be able to use the JR pass when we are in Hakone. Thanks in advance for your help :)

Hi there,

Yes, this would work but I have to warn you about the travel time involved for getting to the Snow Monkey park. It takes about 150 minutes by rail to Yudanaka station, plus another 30 or so to get to the park. You'd have to make the trip back as well. Doing around 6 hours of travel on a single day. My advice would be to leave as early as possible, as the park closes around 5 too. Also note that the train between Nagano - Yudana is not covered by the JR Pass and required a ticket of 1160yen).

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks for the quick revert, Daniel-san. That really helps a lot.

I hope you dont mind me asking some more. Do you think it will be safe to assume that we wont be able to maximize the 7day pass for our itinerary? Thanks again :)
