help to decide to purchase JR Pass

Hello there

me and my wife travelling to japan for 1 weeks from 2 sept to 8 sept and would like to know your recommendation whether we need to purchase JR pass or not. I am really thank you for your help.

our itinerary is as follows:

  1. Osaka to Kobe use Shinki Bus
    Kobe city loop
  2. Shin-Kobe to Kyoto station
    Kyoto city Kyoto Station to Osaka
  3. Osaka
  4. Shin-Osaka to Tokyo-Shinagawa
  5. Tokyo
  6. Tokyo
  7. Tokyo to Haneda airport

Hi there,

Looking at your itinerary, I would buy normal rail tickets as you travel. The JR Pass is best used for longer distances, think of Osaka - Tokyo, making a return on this route is enough for a JR Pass to break-even. However you only travel one way and normal tickets will simply cost less.
