My gf and I are flying to Haneda on 11th April. We arrive at 22.00 at Haneda Airport.
We depart from Haneda on 20th April 17.00.

We would like to cover Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo during this travel.

Below is itinerary we had in mind

11.04 Haneda. Stay at hotel near Haneda airport

12.04 morning Leave to Kyoto

14.04 evening Leave to Osaka

16.04 evening leave to Tokyo.

20.04 morning head to Haneda

Would need help on what rail pass to buy to cover above itinerary. Also, traditional japanese inns we can stay at these places. nothing fancy but safe and clean.

Thanks in Advance

Hi Ro,

Using a 7 day JR Pass for your travel from Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo is a great option. The 7 day JRPass is roughtly the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Osaka on the shinkansen, however now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price.

For budget accommodations, i'd recommend taking a look over at It's easy to find budget accommodations including budget ryokans where you can stay. Be sure to read reviews from other travelers beforehand, this way you are sure of what to expect.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Daniel.

Where can I buy the JR pass? And can I use it for all the trains inside Tokyo and to Kyoto-Osaka.
