Hello Daniel

Thanks... I do appreciate it... i have being doing a lot of reading on this forum and the japan-guide. I love travel and the planning is part of the fun. One Q:

  1. Do you recommend 2 nights in Hakone and 2 in Nikko if we want to enjoy the area and do some walking/hiking?

As for the the 8th to 13th might consist of these locations assuming we can easily make our way from kyoto to nira on JR pail pass ect... any suggestions would be great. I will inquire again once I have that sorted.

Central Honshu Area (between Kainsai area which include Kyoto and Tokyo ):
● Nagamo Ken Mountains - http://www.japan-guide.com/list/e1216.html and http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6025.html ● Chubu Region http://www.japan-guide.com/list/e1104.html ● Kiso Ji - http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6075.html ● Takayama - http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5900.html ● Kurizawa ( think there is a hike) yari go take cable car to roof of Japan they call it ● http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6030.html ● Yudanaka Onsen - monkeyshttp://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6024.html

We try not to cover too much as really like to enjoy the area.

Thank you again :)
Heidi

Hi again!

Generally I advise 1 night in Nikko, though there is a lot of beautiful nature in the area to explore. So 2 nights is fine if you plan on doing some hiking. Hakone is also good for 2 nights.

The part in Nagano also looks good!

Enjoy!
Daniel
