Good day to the team.

Hello, me and my family is planning our trip to Japan.
Landing in Fukuoka International Airport on Feb 28, 2017 @ 18:55.
Will stay at Fukuoka Ward for a day (March 1) then by 7pm or 8pm will take the shinkansen ride to Tokyo.

Any itinerary suggestion for us? Starting our tour from March 1 till March 6 ending it at Osaka at night.

Making our last day of March 7: trip from Osaka to Fukuoka then Airport for our 20:00 plane back to Manila, Philippines.

Thank you in advance.

Hello there,

The trip from Hakata to Tokyo takes 6 hours by train and the last possible connection departs at 16:38 from Hakata. My advise would be to either stay the first night in Fukuoka or travel part of the way to Tokyo, as there is no way to travel to Tokyo at 8 pm.

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the Shinkansen map as there are many great stops along the way you could visit. Think of Hiroshima, Himeji, Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shizuoka and many more.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

This is our planned itinerary.
Day 0/ Feb 28: arrival at Fukuoka IA
Day 1/Mar 1: whole day tour at Fukuoka. I planned to take the over night train if it still available and included to the JRpass. "Sunrise Seto" to Tokyo by the morning.
Based on hyperdia: we can take the train from hakata @ 21:08 and arrive at Himeji station by 23:08; ride sunrise seto by 23:35 and lastly arrive at Tokyo Station by 7:08(March 2)
Day 2/Mar 2: Izu peninsula
Day 3/ Mar 3: GALA yuzawa in Niigata
Day 4/ Mar 4: TOKYO tour then late train ride to Kyoto
Day 5/ Mar 5: Kyoto
DAY 6/ Mar 6: Osaka
Day 7/ Mar 7: Osaka, afternoon train ride to Fukuoka. Flight back to the Philippines.

Hello again. Basically my main question is: thus the Sunrise Seto train is covered by the JR PASS and if it still taking over night train trips?

Thank you in advance.

Hi again,

Yes, this train is covered. However its possible that seats are sold out long in advance. So its a good idea to have a plan B ready.

I see.
Though, is there any chance that we could make an early reservation?
And how?

Thank you for your advice and answer.
