Dear Daniel,

We will be a few days in Kyoto in August, coming to Tokyo on August 27. On this day we want to attend the Asakusa Samba Carnival on Kaminarium Dori but we are not sure about the itinerary. Question: is it right to travel in the morning from Kyoto through either Kanda (Tokyo) or Shinagawa & Sengakuji to ASAKUSA (TOBU/SUBWAY) to end up at the nearest place to the Samba Carnival??
Thank you very much in advance for attending and replying our question.
Gala.

Dear Gala,

The route would look like this:
Take a Hikari Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo station (about 160 minutes). From Tokyo take a local train to Ueno station, here you can transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza line to Asakusa. Only the metro is not included in the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
