Hi! We will be travelling to Japan on the 2nd september (arriving the 3rd). We plan the following trip and would like to know if it makes sense to purchase a rail pass or if the itinerary is also possible by bus?

Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo (3rd to 18th September)

Thanks!
Robyn

Hello Robyn,

Yes, A JR Pass could help you make very good savings. Though you would have to plan in such a way that you can cover travel Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo within the validity period of your JR Pass.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
