Do I need to get the JR pass Tokyo-Kyoto-Nara-Osaka-Tokyo

Hi, I can't decide whether I need the JR Pass for my travel. Is it worth it to get one for my itinerary? Will I save more if I get it? I got 9days in Japan with the following itinerary:

Day1 Narita to Ueno (Tokyo)
Day 2 Disneyland
Day 3 Sightseeing (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Roppongi)
Day 4 Fuji Q
Day 5 Tokyo to Kyoto (via Shinkansen)
Day 6 Sightseeing in Kyoto
Day 7 Kyoto to Nara to Osaka
Day 8 Osaka to Tokyo (can't decide if I take the train or plane)
Day 9 Haneda going back to Singapore

I'm travelling on a budget so I want to know if I could save better with the JR Pass than buying Normal Tickets and domestic flights from Osaka to Tokyo.

Hi there,

You can make nice savings using a JR Pass, given that you make the return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka using the Shinkansen. The 7 day JR Pass is about the same price as a normal return ticket with the Shinkansen but now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price and any additional travel basically is what you save.

I can't comment directly on flight prices as they change by the day. Traveling by Shinkansen generally is a lot more relaxed though, you just walk to the station, get on the train and off you go. There are no security checks, baggage collections and so on. Not to forget that rail travel will get you from Shin-Osaka to the center of Tokyo without any transfers.

Hope this helps,
