Hello I Wonder if we have (2 adults and one child of 6) to take the Jpr pass for the following itinerary:

-airport haneda to tokyo (komagome Jr line) -6 nights in tokyo but we'll probably go for ONE Day excursion in kamakura and ONE other to Nikko. -tokyo to hakone (2 nights) -hakone to kyoto (3 nights but we plan to go to nara) -kyoto to takayama (2 nights ) -takayama to kanazawa (2 nights ) -kanazawa to tokyo (2 nights ) -tokyo to airport haneda

Thanks for your answer
Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

With this itinerary you'd have to look at a 14 day JR Pass. Let's see if it is worth it.

Tokyo - Kamakura ¥ 1,820
Tokyo - Nikko ¥ 11,160
Tokyo - Hakone (Odawara station) ¥ 3,740
Odawara - Kyoto ¥ ¥ 12,080
Kyoto - Takayama ¥ 9,960
Takayama - Kanazawa ¥ 6,650
Kanazawa - Tokyo ¥ 14,120

For a total of ¥ 59,530 or ¥ 13,140 in savings with the 14 day JR Pass (¥ 46,390). So a 14 day JR Pass is well worth considering. It can also be used for local travel in Tokyo, to Haneda Airport and to Nara. Adding even more to your savings.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
