Hi!

I am going to visit Japan for 10 days from August 19 to 29 and I am wondering does it worth to by 14 day JRPass.

I will arrive Narita Airport on 19th of August and heading to FujiJoshida in the same evening. Can I go there with JR train?

I will stay in FujiJoshida from 19.08 to 25.08 but making twice day trips to Tokyo. Then going to Kyoto.

From August 25 to 28 I will stay in Kyoto but making one day trip to explore Nara and one day trip to see Himeneji Castle.

In the evening 28th I will go back to Tokyo and departure from Narita on 29th.

As I am going to take a lot of trips by train is it useful to buy 14 day JRPass, even if I stay shorter time?

Hello there,

I checked the itinerary for you and my advice would be to buy normal tickets for the first part of your travel. Fuji Yoshida is reached using the Fujikyu line, which does not accept the JR Pass.

For travel to Kyoto I would recommend a 7 day JR Pass. This because the 7 day JR Pass is the same price as a normal return Tokyo - Kyoto but now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. You can also use the JR Pass for travel to Himeji and Narita Airport, making sure that you make good savings.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
