Hi,

We're planning the following itinerary and wondered whether a 14 day, or 7 day pass with tickets either side is the best option?

Day 1: Arrive Tokyo Haneda
Day 2: Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo
Day 4: Tokyo
Day 5: Tokyo to Odawara
Day 6: Hakone
Day 7: Odawara to Kyoto
Day 8: Kyoto
Day 9: Kyoto
Day 10: Kyoto to Hiroshima to Miyajima
Day 11: Miyajima
Day 12: Miyajima to Osaka
Day 13: Day trip from Osaka to Nara
Day 14: Osaka to Tokyo
Day 15: Tokyo
Day 16: Tokyo leave Narita

Thanks in advance!

Hi Laurence,

Looking at your itinerary, my advise would be to use a 14 day JR Pass from day 1 - day 14. A JR Pass is best used on longer routes, especially when you use the Shinkansen. Most of your travel is done an 8 day period from Day 5 to Day 14, using the JR Pass in this period will cover all of your long distance travel but also your arrival from Haneda - Tokyo and local travel around Tokyo on any JR line.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
