Hi,
I have already purchased the 7 day JR pass. I plan to activate it when leaving Hakone to get to Kyoto and using it for the rest of the trip. What is the best way to get to Kyoto from Hakone using the JR pass? Also will the JR pass be useful for travel within Kyoto and Tokyo?

Hi there,
The Shinkansen station for Hakone is called Odawara, from there you can use the Shinkansen directly to Kyoto using the Japan Rail Pass.
You can also use the pass for local trains within Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and elsewhere that are on the JR Network.
