hello,

we start our japan adventure with 1 week in tokyo on the 19th of august
then we have 2 weeks (from 26th) for the railpass followed by 1 week of kyoto (from there we wanna cover osaka & nara)

so far our master-plan for the railpass time would be:
3 nights yokohama/hakone
2 nights nikko
3 nights nagano
2 nights kanazawa
2 nights nagoya
2 nights kobe

we try to stay a minimum of 2 nights to have a base and discover the area, as we think it´s best not to carry the luggage all the time

what do you think?
any must see events in the time we are around that we may should aware of? any suggestions what you would do differently are kindly appreciated

big thanks
alex

Hi Alex,

Very nice plan! Having the luxery of spending two nights in each place is great to get a feel of every place you visit and it's how I personnely prefer to travel as well. One place I would probably swap out is Nagoya. The city for me feels much like a business town and somehow does not feel very welcoming. Instead you could go up to Takayama or west to Hiroshima. Both places are very nice visits and I feel your time may be better spend there.

To avoid some extra travel time, you could switch Hakone and Nikko around. This would save you about 1h of travel time to Nagano.

I think it looks great for the rest!

Hope this helps,
Daniel
