We are four adults and will be travelling over a 14 day period to the following places :

Kyoto to Nara
Nara to Kyoto
Kyoto to Koyasan via Hashimoto
Koyasan to Osaka
Osaka to Hiroshima
Hiroshima to Miyajima
Miyajima to Hiroshima
Hiroshima to Okayama
Okayama to Naoshima
Naoshima to Okayama
Okayama to Takayama via Nagoya
Takayama to Tokyo via Nagoya

Would it be interesting to buy a 14 day pass?

Hi there,

Good question! To answer your here's a list of ticket prices without the JR Pass.

Kyoto -> Nara ¥ 690
Nara -> Kyoto ¥ 690
Kyoto -> Hashimoto ¥ 1,890
Hashimoto -> Osaka ¥ 1,450
Osaka -> Hiroshima ¥ 9,950
Miyajima Hiroshima ¥ 940 (return)
Hiroshima -> Okayama ¥ 5,860
Okayama -> Uno, for the ferry to Naoshima ¥ 570
Uno -> Okayama (way back) ¥ 570
Okayama -> Takayama ¥ 14,300
Takayama --> Tokyo ¥ 14,300

This adds up to a total travel amount of ¥ 51,210 the 14-day JR Pass is ¥ 45,100, so you would save ¥ 6,110.
Not bad, even if I say so myself ;-). You could possibly make further savings by using to JR Pass to travel to/from the Airport or on local JR lines.

Hope this helps,
