Hi,

I'm going to be in Japan for 15 days in April and my itinerary is listed below:

Day 1: Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo
Day 4: Nagano
Day 5: Kyoto
Day 6: Day trip to Nara then back to Kyoto
Day 7: Kyoto
Day 8: Kyoto
Day 9: kyosan
Day 10: Osaka
Day 11: Osaka
Day 12: Osaka
Day 13: Tokyo
Day 14: Tokyo
Day 15: Tokyo

Not sure if getting a 14 day JR pass is better than pay as you go tickets.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hello there,

The quick breakdown the important travel legs gives:

Tokyo - Nagano ¥ 8,200
Nagano - Kyoto ¥ 20,070
Kyoto - Osaka ¥ 560
Osaka - Tokyo ¥ 14,140

For this itinerary it would thus be better to buy normal tickets as you travel as the 14 day JR Pass is ¥ 46,390.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
