My wife and I will travel to Japan and arrive in the evening on October 6th and start our adventure on the 7th. We are after some advice to make the best use of our time in Japan. We will stay in Tokyo till Monday the 12th and then we move to Osaka. From Osaka we will do a day trip to Kyoto and Arima. We then travel back to Tokyo on Friday the 16th and Fly home the night of Sunday the 18th.
Our initial itinerary looks like this
Wed 7th akihabara shopping and maid cafe. Govt observation deck
Thurs 8th Disney Sea
Friday 9th Disney land
Sat 10th day trip to the rc worlds at yatabe arena. We need to travel on the Tx line to Tsukuba.
Sunday 11th Harajuku am and afternoon Yokohama for ramen museum and aquarium
Mon 12th we transfer via bullet train to Osaka. Shopping pm
Tue 13th day trip to arima for onsen and on return a night cruise in Osaka.
We'd 14th day trip Kyoto
Thurs 15th Osaka castle, aquarium and shopping.
Fri 16th back to Tokyo and pm check out studio ghibli.
Sat 17th tsukiji market am, ueno zoo and Tokyo cruise that night
Sun 18th some final shopping before we leave on 8pm flight.
We have requested a Tokyo and Osaka free guide for possibly 5 days but we haven't heard back yet and we really want to finalise our itinerary soon so we can start buying tickets.
We are not sure if we should get a 7 or 14 day jr pass. I want to possibly travel on more than 1 type of bullet train. It's one of my things to do in Japan.
We would love suggestions on making the most out of our day trips to Yokohama, Kyoto and arima.
We have left shrines off our list as we figure we will see lots of them but if there are any suggestions on observation decks and places like the sky tree and how we can best see Tokyo from the various parts of the city we will travel to.
i want to buy a nice knife somewhere.
Tips on buying tickets to Disney, bullet trains, attractions.
Tips on whether there is an advantage to buy tickets like Disney from Australia at a slight premium before we arrive or whether we're better to wait till we get there and buy from local vendors where we might be able to get a bargain. We've had issues with 1 card on the Disney Japan site already.
Any help is appreciated.
