My family will be visiting in December and will be purchasing the JR rail pass. I would like to accompany them but I am on a Student Visa. Is there a pass I can purchase or will I have to purchase the Shinkansen tickets individually?

Hi there,
There's only a JR Pass for foreign visitors who enter Japan on a tourist visa, any other visa such as student does not allow to use of a JR Pass.
This means you have to buy normal tickets.
