Travel between Tokyo and Sapporo

Hello!
My brother and I are going to Japan next February. We arrive in Tokyo and want to go to Sapporo for the Snow Festival.
I've read that it's possible to travel by train and that the trip is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass. I was wondering if the information is updated, and if not, which other options there are, the route is the following:

"Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori Station (3.5 hours). Then, take the JR Hakucho limited express to Hakodate (2 hours) and finally the JR Hokuto limited express to Sapporo (3.5 hours). The entire one way trip costs around 24,000 yen and takes around ten hours. . Note that seat reservations are mandatory on Hayabusa trains between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori."

I was also wandering if the return trip is the same.

Thank you

Hello there,

Yes - this is still valid and the JR Pass covers the full route and it is the same for the return.

The only real alternative is looking at domestic flights between Tokyo - Sapporo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
